Conall is from a small village on the Irish countryside but, unlike his sisters and brothers, he wanted to study at a high prestige University. After high school he got a scholarship and studied chemistry at Princeton. He is now a scientist.
Romola is also a high achiever. Her father is Italian and her mother Japanese, now living in Philadelphia. She studied to become a doctor at Princeton, and that's how she and Conall met. Unfortuneatly, Romola couldn't take the pressure being a doctor and when they married, they decided that she would be a stay-at-home mum, at least until she feel like working again.
They are now living in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Year 1: Adoption
Conall and Romola decided to adopt from an agency that was specialized on children from families with domestic violence. After a couple of weeks they got their child: a boy from Israel. His father have been very violent and he doesn't have any other relatives. His name is Levi Gavriel and he's 13 years old. He has brown, curly hair and green eyes. He's pretty scarred, but Conall and Romola think that if they give him a lot of love and patience, he'll open up.

Year 2: Family Vacation
The Heddens took a vacation to Rome, Romola's father's hometown. Levi is still quiet and shy but it seemed like he really liked Italy. His english teacher in school told Romola and Conall that he had written a long essay about it when they came home.

Year 3: Birth
This year, Romola got pregnant and gave birth to Forrest. He's brown-eyed and has straight, brown hair. He is really sweet and Levi likes him a lot. Sometimes, when no one else is around, Levi talks for hours to Forrest. For a boy that almost never talks otherwise, that's extraordinary.

Year 4: Travel
The Heddens went to another vacation this year, to Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. Conall really enjoyed the wildlife and nature and took Levi out on long walks and hiking paths. Levi liked it too. He and Conall really bonded. Romola isn't quite a wildlife girl but she liked the fresh air.

Year 5: Birth
Romola wasn't supposed to go into labour until January next year, but already in late November the baby was coming! The birth was very premature and consequently the little baby girl is very petite. Her name is Chloë Serena. She has straight, black hair and gray eyes. All in all, she looks a lot like Romola, except for her gray eyes.

Year 6: Travel
Every christmas or new year, Conall's parents visit Conall in Williamsport but this time they were staying home, since Conall's sister had just given birth to triplets and they felt like giving a hand there instead. Therefore, Romola and Conall decided to visit them in February. It was a great trip and Levi even said that he'd like to stay in Ireland. A couple of months later he graduated high school and after that he applied to a college close to Conall's hometown. He's moving there now, planning to live with Conall's parents until he finds a flat on his own. Conall and Romola miss him a lot but are happy that he can live in a place that really fascinates him.

Year 7: Random - Family Vacation
The year after Levi moved to Ireland, the other Heddens decided to visit him for christmas. He's really settling down in Ireland and Conall's parents told Conall that Levi is truly happy there. He even got a girl friend!

Year 8: Job
Romola had, for the latest couple of years, been pretty engaged in local politics. She was getting a bit tired of "just" being a stay-at-home mum and this year she got a new job - mayor in Williamsport! She has a lot of support and is sure that she can contribute with a lot of improvement to her town.

Year 9: Family Affair
Chloë had always been very tiny compared to her brothers that were big and ate a lot. Chloë ate a lot too but just didn't seem to grow. Romola, educated doctor, saw the signs and ordered a test for celiac disease. It came back positive. Now there's just gluten-free food for the Heddens (they're all planing on following Chloë's diet).

Year 10: Adoption
Ten years after they adopted Levi, Conall and Romola decided to adopt again! This time they adopted from an agency for children in countries with war. They got Nakato Eniola, from Sudan. She is eight years old, just a year older than Forrest. She lost her parents in the civil war. She has black braids and brown eyes. She is very fascinated with Conall's red hair - that's a hair colour she has never seen before!

Year 11: Pet
The first years of Nakato's, Kate's, life she recalls of having a goat in her yard. For her birth day, Romola bought her a goat and she was thrilled! She has named him Cameron.

Year 12: Travel
It felt like time for another trip. Since Kate was so interested in American history, they decided to go to New York to see the Statue of Liberty. They all had a good time!

Year 13: Random - Move

One day Conall came home saying that he was going on a business trip in Dacember. Romola didn't think it was a big deal until she saw the sneaky expression on Conall's face. "What?" she asked and Conall announced that he had been nominated to the Noble Prize and was going to Stockholm, Sweden, in December! Of course the entire family wanted to come too!

Year 15: Random - Family Vacation
The Heddens decided to visit Levi in Ireland again. It was a really nice trip and they even convinced him to move back to Williamsport again! They were especially eager to get him back since his girlfriend is pregnant and they are going to be grandparents! Conall and Romola want to see their grandchild a lot and then it's convenient if Levi and his girlfriend live in the same city.
