[Opinions] Dexter
Would you consider Dexter to be flaky and trendy, or just quirky and interesting? Or all of the above? I like Dexter a lot today, but often can't decide if I like Baxter more.
I like the combo Dexter Ward (Ward is a family surname). It's so studious and also has bonus HP Lovecraft connections (I found out when I Googled it. Also apparently a loser American Idol contestant, and a financial planning service! what fun!)

If there weren't the show "Dexter" I'd find it more quirky and interesting. It's still quirky, but it's one of those "influenced by current pop culture" names now, I think, like Jude and Delilah.
It's nice, but it's not really 'for me'. I prefer it a million times over to Baxter, though!

I've been thinking about Dexter a lot recently! The name sounds quirky and studious to me, so I like it.
I'll take Dexter over Baxter any day. Baxter can be quickly associated phonetically with "bastard" for me, so ...
Dexter is quirky cool! I don't really see Dexter as trendy or at least not around here (where I live) but then again Dexter is kinda hipster-ish. I like Dexter either way.
I trip over Dexter Ward. When I say it fast, I feel like I'm insulting someone :/ I like Ward, though.

Dexter is awesome! I get a very "adorkable"/lovable geek feel out of it. I don't necessarily see it as trendy, but I could see it getting somewhat popular in certain circles.
aw, adorkable!
So true.
So true.
oh!
I never thought of how similar it is to "bastard". I bet a third-grader would pick up on that in an instant though. Good spotting.
Ohh I like Webster too....would it be very damaging for a young man to have a name that meant "female weaver"??

I don't think so, but it would be called a 'nerd name' because of Websters dictionary.
that's ok
I like nerd names pretty well :)

I'm torn about it. Sometimes it seems quirky and masculine, along the lines of Quentin. And I like the possible nickname Dex. But at other times, it seems nerdy and pretentious. I have enough negative feelings about it that I could never use it.
