Everyone was shocked when Amity started dating Mortimer at only age 18. Mortimer was twice her age, for heaven's sake! Still, Amity didn't care. She is very stubborn and doesn't change her mind just because other people think she is doing something unconventional. Besides, Mortimer totally adores her, he can't even take his eyes off of her. So whether people supported it or not, they got married!
