Message: "Elyssa?" - Behind the Name

What do you think of this name? It isn't in the database, but it is pronounced ee-LIS-suh. From what I know it is a variant of Elizabeth, not Alyssa. What do you think?

It reminds me of Elysia, and Alyssa. It's alright.

I prefer Elissa, a genuine historic name.
Otherwise, I'd use Alyssa.
Elyssa seems too confusing in spelling and origin. Pretty, though.

More likely Elissa with a trendy y, don't you think? Better than Dido, but asking for confusion with Elise, Eliza etc as well as Alyssa.
