Isai would be Isaiah minus the ah, but the difference in the pronunciation is interesting as Isaiah is pronounced eye-ZEH-ah. Isaiah is a biblical name.

I just saw that JESSLYN was some time ago, so here the part once more:
JESSE is a given name today, in the Hebrew bible it is YISHAI (he was the father of King David; in German bibles his name is ISAI) and of doubtful meaning: It could mean "exsisting, alive" (referring to God or maybe to the child), or else "masculine, manly". Some try to see a short form of the name God "Jahweh" in YISHAI, others claim it is a short form Isaiah (YESHAYAHU meaning "Jahweh saves").
