Relations with the kingdom of Haarlsgard have been touchy for the last few years. They are traditional seafaring rivals for trade with foreign countries, and lately that rivalry has led to tensions. No skirmishes or outright animosity have occured yet, but feelings are bad. Kat wants to avoid a war more than anything, and she and the advisors both think that a campaign for public goodwill is the best move. A state visit of Haarlsgard was arranged, including all the children. They decided that presenting Kat and Arthur as family-oriented and loving parents as well as wise rulers. They stayed in the royal palace as guests of King Magnus and Queen Karen. The visit was cordial and accomplished what it set out to do; relations have warmed, at least for now. It accomplished somewhat more than that as well--it wasn't long after their return that Kat discovered she was pregnant again. Kat went through the pregnancy more easily than she ever had before, and delivered a perfectly healthy son. They named him Theodore, after Arthur's grandfather, and gave him the second name James so he would have a J name like Gabriel. They decided that his third name would be after King Magnus, to honor their new friendship. Robert and Fionn were names they simply liked. All of the children were thrilled with their new brother, especially Gabriel, who was tired of being the only boy. His health has improved dramatically, and he cannot wait until Theodore is old enough to play with.
