Life had been going on peacefully for quite a while – until Hadassah’s body was found, stabbed to death, in one of the gardens. Nearby was the corpse of a young man she had sometimes been seen flirting with. This was quite a shock to the royal household, but eventually they were able to deduce what had happened. The young man had fancied himself in love with Hadassah, who in reality had been flirting with just about everyone. When she turned her attentions to another gentleman, the first had stabbed her in jealousy before committing suicide with the same knife. The entire family is grief-stricken, but still, life goes on. Varinia and Bozhidar have had their first daughter, and Rainer and Anoush have twin girls. Parthenia is now married and seems to be at least content, and Eliora is engaged to her childhood sweetheart, but has not married yet – she’s still dealing with the loss of her only immediate family member.
