The Complete Book of Hebrew Baby Names by Smadar Shir Sidi says that Yada (modern Hebrew spelling of the male name Jada) meant "He knew." It is highly unlikely that this was a sexual reference, but instead is a reference to knowledge of God.
However, personally I think it's also unlikely that the modern use of Jada as a female first name in the USA is related to the obscure Old Testament male name. I think it's probably an invented name based on "jade", the name of the precious stone.
