In the Kingdom of Yarrow
When Queen Wilhelmina was the most lost and confused after the death of her beloved husband and her little girl she met Chauncey Valmierre, a scribe working for the royal court. She soon found that he was very easy to speak to, he understood her and even though he was a commoner she could not help that she started to have feelings for him. Marriage was the only option for Queen Wilhelmina and she is now experiencing a period of calm and happiness she never thought would come after all the troubled years. As a mother she is very proud of her son King Benedict and his wife Queen Malvina. He turned out to be a good king. He is wise and sympathetic but at the same time strong enough to do what needs to be done in the kingdom. Queen Malvina is, as Queen Wilhelmina knew right from the start, a good wife and mother though a bit too fond of expensive clothes and jewelery. The birth of little Crown Prince Julien was a joyful day, not only for the royal family but for the entire kingdom. Queen Wilhelmina is a very proud grandmother and mother. She first had a hard time accepting that Princess Theodosia wanted to leave the royal court life and her family, but deep down she knew that Princess Theodosia never had been happy with that kind of life. It is with sorrow she will say goodbye to her but she knows that her daughter will be happy and that is the most important thing.
Prince Frederick dreams of a military life. He has become obsessed with figthing and wars and he studies the subject for hours every day as well as taking part in actual training with swords and other weapons. Queen Wilhelina knows he misses his father very much and ever since he was a little boy he has admired his father who led the army in the Four Year War against the rebels. She is sure he will be a good and fair leader for the Army of Yarrow but she worries that he misses out on carefree life he could enjoy as a boy. Someone who isn't missing out on the fun is Victoria, Queen Wilhelmina's adopted daughter. She is a very beautiful girl and she knows how to use it. She has recently discovered her impact on the opposite sex and is now using it to her advantaged. She loves the court life and has made it into a game to see how many men and boys she can make fall in love with her.
