In the Queendom of Thaeris
Five years after Asenath's death, the Destined High Priestess Zubia has been presented to the goddess Sul'i's presence and is Thaeris' new High Priestess. While her late mother had begun her reign at eighteen, Zubia felt it was not such for her. Her future Consort Michael has been very supportive of her, and as soon as she was named High Priestess the two were married in an elaborate ceremony involving dancers and visitors from the surrounding tribes and the Strangers they were friendly with. The Dowager Consort Valen has ceased to be Zubia's regent, and now that he has been officially retired from that position, took the liberty of marrying again. While acting as Regent and recovering from his loss of his wife, Valen has found consolation in his friend Ezio's younger sister, Cecilia. However, Valen felt it inappropriate to consummate their growing love in a marriage until his daughter is officially the High Priestess, and once Zubia has taken the position and married her consort Michael, Valen and Cecilia were quietly wedded in Thaeris. The tribe has enjoyed relative peace and prosperity during the last five years, and Zubia found that to her great relief, her first moments of being High Priestess was a much gentler time than her mother had. It was merely months before she got pregnant, and much to Thaeris' joy, the child was revealed to be a daughter! The girl was christened Ianthe, after the deceased Asenath, and her first middle name was Leandra, honouring both Michael and Thaeris' relations with the Strangers. It was well that Ianthe was born at such a fortunate time, since the Sul'i'ah Kiara, which was supposed to be next in line should anything happen to Zubia, had no intention whatsoever to become High Priestess. Kiara was much more interested with the prospect of devoting her life to the sciences and medicines, something which will no doubt take so much of her time and disable her from becoming a proper High Priestess. Now that Ianthe is born and a heiress is secured, Kiara happily pursues her devotion to the sciences, and quickly became a favourite of the other scholars due to her sharp mind (and the funding does not hurt, either). In the meanwhile, young Sul'i'mi Desmon has decided that the life for him is that of fighting. He has learned the arts of the sword very quickly, and is highly proficient in the ways of combat, even managing to defeat his father in a sparring match at the tender age of fifteen. Desmon has stated his wishes to one day embark on a journey to the Strangers' land, and Zubia confirms that when he is ready, he shall be Thaeris' ambassador. But his childhood playmate and adopted sister Lucrezia was not as easily pleased with the offers of adventure. Crezia knows she will never chance being a High Priestess unless every other female in her family (excluding perhaps Vana) dies, but wants to have a similar power and prestige. She has decided to be Thaeris' aspiring femme fatale, having shed lovers faster than garments at such a young age. Valen, Cecilia, and Crezia's siblings were greatly concerned with the seductress-to-be's ways, but Crezia carried on.
