I like it. It's interesting. The sound is pretty.

I knew a girl at my school named this. She is made fun of a lot for her looks, and jerks started using her name as an insult. She's a nice person and she has a pretty name.

It happens in South Africa among Afrikaans-speakers, but not nearly as often as it once did. It comes across as middle-aged to elderly, rather dusty and dull. Often shortened to Lida, which is brisker and better but still not good.

Not a fan. I realize from clicking on it that it's from Adelaide, but the other names derived from Adelaide (Adelle, Della, Adeline, Adella) are WAY nice than Alida... which just looks like someone heard Aleta and didn't know how to spell it right and wound up w/ Alida.

My cousin's daughter is named this.
