Help[Games] Nyx' Royal Congrats ▓▒░ Round 6 ░▒▓
OK – In order for me to be able to track a story across so many different setups, I will be referring to each child in numerical order (so Prince/ss1 would be your first child and Prince/ss2 would be your second child, etc. – I will be referring to all children as “he” unless everybody has a girl). I will also be providing two different storylines. If you have a Kingdom/Queendom, you will have one story line; and if you have an Empire, you will have a different story line (see below for descriptions of what the different social structures mean).
List of Social Systems:
Kingdom: Patriarchy, the father or eldest male is head of the household, has a system of government by males, titles are traced through the male line
Queendom: Matriarchy, the mother or eldest female is head of the household, has a system of government by females, titles are traced through the female line
Empire: Primogeniture, the eldest child of the sovereign succeeds to the throne, regardless of gender, and females enjoy the same right of succession/titles as males
Kingdom/Queendom: Shortly after the twin’s first birthday, the Queen finds out she is pregnant once again. All of the royal physicians fear that she is too old to successfully carry a child to term, and warn that it might be best to terminate the pregnancy. However, the Queen is determined that she will carry this child. Seven months into the pregnancy, a plague enters the Kingdom/Queendom. Eight months into the pregnancy, the plague is within the Royal household. The King, Queen, Princess2, Adopted Daughter6, and Prince/ss8 all come down with it. Unfortunately, the illness forces the Queen’s body into an early labor. The child is born alive, but dies before a full day has passed. The King/Queen (non-ruling monarch), Princess2, and Adopted Daughter6 all recover from the illness and regain their strength. However, Prince/ss8 and the King/Queen (ruling monarch) still seem weak even after the others are well. The physicians think that Prince/ss8’s weakness is most likely due to her early birth and the hard pregnancy/labor her mother went through. However, they are stumped as to why the King/Queen (ruling monarch) doesn’t seem to be recovering. Within a few months, the King/Queen (ruling monarch) passes away, leaving his/her heir as the new King/Queen. The Dowager King/Queen (surviving, non-ruling monarch) will act as Regent until the young heir comes of age to rule by him/herself. As usual, a marriage is pushed upon the young King/Queen. However, this will be a marriage in name only. Until the young King/Queen is old enough to rule on their own, the marriage will not be consummated. The Dowager King/Queen feels that this is to the good, as it will give the young couple a chance to grow to know each other.
Empire: Before the twin’s were four months old, the Empress found out that she was pregnant once again. The royal physicians beg her to terminate the pregnancy, but she refuses. In her seventh month, the Emperor has a stroke that leaves him mostly paralyzed. Just two weeks later, the Empress goes into an early labor due to all of the stress. The child is born alive, but badly deformed, and dies before a full week has passed. Even though the Emperor’s mind is still good, the Empire is weary of having a disabled Emperor. Therefore, he abdicates in favor of his heir. The Emperor and Empress will act as Regents until the new Emperor/Empress comes of age. The Emperor lives just long enough to see his heir engaged to be married, and then dies of a second stroke. The new Emperor/Empress married, but will not consummate the union until s/he is old enough to rule on his/her own. The Dowager Empress continues to act as Regent and teaches the heir as best she can to manage the day to day happenings of the Empire.
Rules: Please check that all information is correct (especially bold items). If any changes are needed, please remember to bold changes so that I will notice and change in my information.
Please make sure that the appropriate King/Queen/etc. was killed. Only those who actually inherited the throne, not married into it, were killed. The surviving spouse should be a Dowager (you may change the title to whatever suits you). Your new King/Queen/etc. is marked as a “Destined” King/Queen/etc. to show that a regent is still needed. Again, you may change this to suit you. The next in line for the throne has been marked as “Crowned Prince/ss”, please check that this is correct. For now, your Consort is marked as just that, until a regent is no longer needed (who knows, I may decide to kill somebody off again in the next round!).
The Consort is to have at least a FN and a MN, and a title (you can use http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_and_noble_ranks for ideas). His/her FN/MN(s) MUST all be from the same origin, and not be of the same origin as the Royal family (if you’ve used mainly English names, then you might try German, Italian, French, or Chinese for the Consort’s names).
Prince/ss9 is to have ONE NAME ONLY. Because this child did not live until their naming day, but was born alive, they give the child a single, virtue-type name.
Because this was such an in depth endeavor for me, and because many need some time to catch up, I will not be posting round 6 until Monday or Tuesday.

The physicians think that Prince/ss8’s weakness is most likely due to her early birth and the hard pregnancy/labor her mother went through. However, they are stumped as to why the King/Queen (ruling monarch) doesn’t seem to be recovering. Within a few months, the King/Queen (ruling monarch) passes away, leaving his/her heir as the new King/Queen. The Dowager King/Queen (surviving, non-ruling monarch) will act as Regent until the young heir comes of age to rule by him/herself. As usual, a marriage is pushed upon the young King/Queen. However, this will be a marriage in name only. Until the young King/Queen is old enough to rule on their own, the marriage will not be consummated. The Dowager King/Queen feels that this is to the good, as it will give the young couple a chance to grow to know each other.
Empire: Before the twin’s were four months old, the Empress found out that she was pregnant once again. The royal physicians beg her to terminate the pregnancy, but she refuses. In her seventh month, the Emperor has a stroke that leaves him mostly paralyzed. Just two weeks later, the Empress goes into an early labor due to all of the stress. The child is born alive, but badly deformed, and dies before a full week has passed. Even though the Emperor’s mind is still good, the Empire is weary of having a disabled Emperor. Therefore, he abdicates in favor of his heir. The Emperor and Empress will act as Regents until the new Emperor/Empress comes of age. The Emperor lives just long enough to see his heir engaged to be married, and then dies of a second stroke. The new Emperor/Empress married, but will not consummate the union until s/he is old enough to rule on his/her own. The Dowager Empress continues to act as Regent and teaches the heir as best she can to manage the day to day happenings of the Empire.
Rules: Please check that all information is correct (especially bold items). If any changes are needed, please remember to bold changes so that I will notice and change in my information.
Please make sure that the appropriate King/Queen/etc. was killed. Only those who actually inherited the throne, not married into it, were killed. The surviving spouse should be a Dowager (you may change the title to whatever suits you). Your new King/Queen/etc. is marked as a “Destined” King/Queen/etc. to show that a regent is still needed. Again, you may change this to suit you. The next in line for the throne has been marked as “Crowned Prince/ss”, please check that this is correct. For now, your Consort is marked as just that, until a regent is no longer needed (who knows, I may decide to kill somebody off again in the next round!).
The Consort is to have at least a FN and a MN, and a title (you can use http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_and_noble_ranks for ideas). His/her FN/MN(s) MUST all be from the same origin, and not be of the same origin as the Royal family (if you’ve used mainly English names, then you might try German, Italian, French, or Chinese for the Consort’s names).
Prince/ss9 is to have ONE NAME ONLY. Because this child did not live until their naming day, but was born alive, they give the child a single, virtue-type name.

R5 - The Countesses’ father had died and the new king, his brother-heir, blamed the king’s death on Empress Faustina as her revenge for her nieces. He provoked her into being a witch and swore to kill her and the empirical family of Yarrow thus letting him be the new ruler of the land. He sent spies and soldiers as a distraction to first snuff out the family but young Crowned Princess Adela intercepted and was able to warn the sleeping family just in time. She herself, though, sustained severe injuries as she herself fled after her family. The soldiers left her for dead while her parents and siblings found safety in the countryside. She was retrieved by Yarrow’s own soldiers once they suppressed the attack and sent her to her awaiting family. It took many months for her to heal. Emperor Hugo, aghast and angry and the attempted siege, immediately called his troops to arm and in four years time suppressed the Countesses’ uncle’s attempts. Shortly after the Emperor’s return home from the “Battle of the Lilies” (as it was known for peace was to be won again), Faustina found herself pregnant and to nobody’s surprise. She struggled once again as she did with Adela during this pregnancy. She delivered too early and the two babes she gave birth to were weak and were not expected to survive.

The Queen is dead! Long live the King! Tragedy has struck the Royal Family, resulting in the deaths of a princess and the Queen.
The princess died less than a day after she’d been born. The Queen and Prince Christopher decided to name her Mercy, in the hopes that Dunlin would be shown some and recover from this plague. Unfortunately, this was not meant to be. Queen Catherine passed within a few months; her eldest son was crowned King Frederick VI and, should anything happen to him, Prince Theodore will inherit the throne.
As King Frederick is so young, Prince Christopher was named Prince Regent. It was immediately suggested by the Royal advisors that a marriage be arranged for the young King. The Prince Regent agreed, but only after a period of mourning for Queen Catherine had passed. A few months passed, and, while the Royal Family still mourned, it was agreed upon by the Royal advisors that a sufficient amount of time had passed, and it was time to get back to running Dunlin.

Emperor Finnian and Empress Mattie are to act as Regents until Empress Gwynn is old enough the care for the Empire on her own.
Empress Gwynn is then engaged to Baron Kaspar Nickolaus Fritz. The Emperor Finnian has a second stroke shortly after, and then dies.
Empress Gwynn is married, but will not consummate the union until she is old enough to rule on her own. The Dowager Empress Mattie continues to act as Regent and teaches the heir as best she can to manage the day to day happenings of the Empire.

You might want to use the Kingdom/Queendom storyline this time, as the Empire one doesn’t work as well if your Empress is the one to die. Or you can modify the Empire one to work.
Empire: Before the twin’s were four months old, the Empress found out that she was pregnant once again. The royal physicians beg her to terminate the pregnancy, but she refuses. In her seventh month, the Emperor has a stroke that leaves him mostly paralyzed. Just two weeks later, the Empress goes into an early labor due to all of the stress. The child is born alive, but badly deformed, and dies before a full week has passed. Even though the Emperor’s mind is still good, the Empire is weary of having a disabled Emperor. Therefore, he abdicates in favor of his heir. The Emperor and Empress will act as Regents until the new Emperor/Empress comes of age. The Emperor lives just long enough to see his heir engaged to be married, and then dies of a second stroke. The new Emperor/Empress married, but will not consummate the union until s/he is old enough to rule on his/her own. The Dowager Empress continues to act as Regent and teaches the heir as best she can to manage the day to day happenings of the Empire.

You might want to use the Kingdom/Queendom storyline this time, as the Empire one doesn’t work as well if your Empress is the one to die. Or you can modify the Empire one to work.
Empire: Before the twin’s were four months old, the Empress found out that she was pregnant once again. The royal physicians beg her to terminate the pregnancy, but she refuses. In her seventh month, the Emperor has a stroke that leaves him mostly paralyzed. Just two weeks later, the Empress goes into an early labor due to all of the stress. The child is born alive, but badly deformed, and dies before a full week has passed. Even though the Emperor’s mind is still good, the Empire is weary of having a disabled Emperor. Therefore, he abdicates in favor of his heir. The Emperor and Empress will act as Regents until the new Emperor/Empress comes of age. The Emperor lives just long enough to see his heir engaged to be married, and then dies of a second stroke. The new Emperor/Empress married, but will not consummate the union until s/he is old enough to rule on his/her own. The Dowager Empress continues to act as Regent and teaches the heir as best she can to manage the day to day happenings of the Empire.

I just wasn't sure how your Empress/Malka could have a baby, have a stroke, and everything else... It just seemed a bit much to work in... but if you want to/can, then please feel free. I enjoy reading the stories :-)

Andrew's father is Enwascoirish and his mother is Irsali. This was good because it could help better relations with Enwascoir, but it wouldn't leave the people feeling threatened. Andrew is smart and handsome.
Avi died the day they got married. Her doctors say she was holding on for her daughter and the empire and now that she knew they were in good hands, she let go.

The death of the popular King Edmund came as a shock to the small kingdom. After so many troubled years the people thought that peace and happiness were to reign. The country is mourning their king and also the loss of a young princess. Queen Wilhelmina has always been a strong woman. War, coups and sickness have not been able to break her but after the death of her beloved husband and her little girl, Queen Wilhelmina now feels completely lost. She is sure that Benedict one day will be a great king because he is so much like King Edmund but she also know that he too is lost without his father's guidance. Hopefully, the consort, Duchess of Auring-Visbard will be able to not only secure the stability in the kingdom but also help and support young Benedict.

Queen Eve again became pregnant just after the twins turned 2.
During her eighth month, most of the royal family became severely ill and the Queen thus went into labor early.
She gave birth to a son, only called Honor, though the original plan was for him to be named Kendall II. The baby died the next day.
Slowly, the rest of the family got well, but King Griffin never managed to recover fully and soon passed away. The kingdom mourned.
Prince-- or rather, King Jacob, was expected to marry and continue ruling over the kingdom (though his mother would help until he came of age at 16).
He married the Princess of Eadra, Princess Freya. They will consummate the marriage when King Jacob is 16.

As the future emperor is not ready to take the top spot since he has not completed all of the military tactics training, which is very important since revolt is possible in the recently acquired Halladey Free State, and the empress is not allowed to take over for a permanent position. This overshadows the death of the princess just one day after her birth. There is a new member of the Imperial family in the form of a Consort who will marry the future emperor. The consort is from the Kingdom of Rasputin. The Kingdom has had an alliance with the Empire of Nara for the last 500 years.

Just after Ezio and Arlet's second birthday, the High Priestess Asenath found herself pregnant once again. But this time, the physicians and other priestesses were worried that she might be too old for such a thing. They decided to try to convince her to give the infant up using one of their rituals, but Asenath rejected the idea vehemently, insisting that Sul'i will never be pleased at such atrocities.
Unfortunately, as Asenath's child (a daughter, the priestesses divine) is merely two months away from birth, a mysterious plague entered Thaeris. Casualties were adding with horrible speeds as more and more succumbed to the plague. Asenath, despite being heavily pregnant, went in to beseech Sul'i daily about their condition. To her surprise and fear, Sul'i never answered more than that "the death wants a sarcifice of two". Asenath was mystified with this, and had a long discussion with Valen about it.
As time goes by, even the High Priestess' family suffered from the plague that henceforth became known as Sul'i'reva (Sul'i's anger). First it was the High Priestess' niece, Vaza, who contacted a form of the plague.

The argument didn't last long however, Her Majesty Lillian walked away, apparently too weary for rows with quarrelsome teenage girls. The Empire is left wondering whether a fifteen year old is yet mature enough to hold such a title.

Just after Prince Atticus and Princess Athena's first birthday the Queen found out that she was expecting again. Some people questioned if she would really go through with this pregnancy. But the Queen really wanted this last child. Seven months into the pregnancy a plague entered the Kingdom. People got sick and even died. This was a stressful time for the Royal Couple but only a month later the plague was within the Royal household. King Magnus, Queen Jane, Princess Rosalie, The Honourable Pollyanna and Princess Athena got sick and everyone was very worried about their health. This plague forced Queen Jane's body into an early labor. She gives birth to a little Prince, but he is very sick. Later that evening, the new born little prince passes away leaving his parents and siblings in grief. The Queen, Princess Rosalie and The Honourable Pollyanna makes a full recovery from the plague, but Princess Athena and the King are still weak. The physicians think that Princess Athena still is weak due to her early birth, but they have no clue about the King.

I'm so sorry - Last round was so hectic for me, trying to figure out who to kill and making sure that I had everything right - I would hate it if Atticus and Athena weren't part of the family! I like their names too much LOL

This is the proclamation that has caused a great deal of grief in the Kingdom of Kemberg.
A dark cloud has hung over the country in recent months, firstly the premature birth of Heinrich & Irene's last child, the short-lived Prinz Eugen-Magnus. So frail was this young Prince at birth that the child was baptisted immediately for the sake of his soul, Eugen was choosen simply because the name was the first to come to the mind of Heinrich, later he discovered it meant Well Born, which compounded his sadness further.
Secondly Kaiser Heinrich was deeply depressed and had taken to walking around the castle grounds in any weather late a night in only his bed clothes. The winter chill finally took its toll on him and he died suddenly and unexpectedly.
His death thrust his son, Johan, on to the throne, prematurely, even less prepared for the task of kingship than his father before him.
As his royal motto he choose -"Ad majorem Dei gloriam" as he hoped for a renewed favour of the Lord for his nation and his house after all the tragic events that had occurred.

Round 1:
Bram was slightly stunned when he was told the news. Not only had his King, Queen, and all five of their children passed away from the mysterious epidemic, but so had his mother, the King's younger sister. He was all of a sudden he was the one to inherit the throne of Melquior. The next thing he knew, he was being crowned and had advisors after him at all hours of the day and night. He was no where prepared for this. By the time he was born, the King and Queen already had 2 healthy children and there was no need to think that he might need to be trained to inherit the throne. His advisors badgered him about many different issues, and some he could see were plots to help out those nobles who suggested them.
However, there was one thing all of the advisors agreed upon, he needed to marry and provide heirs to give an image of stability to the Empire. After going over countless lists of eligible and connected females from within the Empire and without, and meeting many of them briefly, he chose his childhood sweetheart the Marchesa of Anburn. This proved to be very wise of him, as Zahara had a mind that was born to see through the political twists and turns of the court and Empire. And, as the two were rapidly falling in true love, Zahara found herself helping Bram more and more. With the rapid series of changes in the Empire recently, no one can tell what is around the corner. However, Bram and Zahara now seem ready to tackle the challenges ahead.
