Morgan's sister and brother-in-law were killed in a car accident coming home from a movie one night, leaving behind Cecile, their four-year-old daughter. As her only sibling, Morgan decided to adopt Cecile, and Yumiko agreed immediately. They kept Cecile's first name, but Morgan changed her middle name to Margot, after her deceased mother.
