[Opinions] Io...
So, I was thinking of ideas for a story I'm planning, and the main protagonist 'introduced' herself to me as Io - not a name I've ever really thought about. Anywhoo, this was so random and surprising, I just wondered what you all think of this name? Personally, I'm not sold on it, but maybe you'll convince me...
Also, combos are welcome, since I don't know her full name yet.

Perhaps it's short for Ione, or Iona.

Io is one of my boyfriend's favorite names! I love that it consists of merely two vowels.

I knew a girl named Io (EE-o). Two letters is too short for my taste but it's ok in a story.

I love Io. It is perfect for a character in a story. I don't think I'd be bold enough to use it on a real child, though.

Love Io
I read a Russian short story once where the female protagonist was named Io. She was very young and in love with a character named Rudloph. She fancied they were so in love that they made a whole new person she called Rudolfio. It always stuck with me.
I have a thing for feminine "i" names. Io has got to be one of the funnest names in existence, along with Echo (echo). Only two letters. Turned into a cow (or something) in Greek myth. A moon. No consonants. What's not to love?
Io Ruxandra is my combo.

You'd be having a lot of children! http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_moons_does_Planet_Jupiter_have Haha. I love Europa and Amalthea.

Europa! I didn't think anyone else would even like her. :-)
Cute idea for a sibling set.

I like it :) I named a moth Io once. She'll inevitably conjure up images of being turned into a cow at first, but I think you can use it for the character.
