In the Kingdom of Kemberg
It has been an emotional trying time on the Royal Couple of Kemberg. After several miscarriages which took a great toll on Irene's health the couple had their second child, a Princess they names Sophie Wilhelmina Victoria, Sophie after her maternal grandmother, Duchess Sophie of Dorest, her two middle names in honour of her uncle's Prinz Wilhelm & Prinz Viktor.
Due to the strict Salic law under which the throne passed, young Princess Sophie couldn't inherit, leaving just Crown Prince Johan as the most closely related heir to the throne.
The royal couple had much pressure put on them to produce a "spare" to the heir. Heinrich asked his advisors if they knew of any circumstance if the throne had historically passed thru female lines, of which it was discovered that the Kaiser could adopt a male relative of the female line as long he wasnt directly in line to inherit another throne. Heinrich talked to his half-brothers and they suggested that if in the future an spare was failed to be produce he could adopt one of the grandsons of their deceased brother Kaiser Johan IV.
THe need for this solution was put on hold however when Irene announced she was pregnant again. To help reduce the risk of miscarriage she was confined to her quarters and had her physician and confessor with her at all times, so if she went into labour she was prepared both physically and spiritually.
Born a month premature the couple welcomed a new son, Prince Manuel Christian Elias Philip Magnus. They choose Manuel for its meaning, believing God was with them in producing the child, Christian after Irene's brother Prince Christian of Dorest who was Manuel's godfather, Elias after the biblical prophet Elijah, who had ended a drought with his words, Philip after Irene's confessor, Father Philip of the Carmelite Order and the traditional Magnus of the Salzwald family.
