[Opinions] Re: Help with Russian family in story
Very nice names.Just a note about Oksana, it's a Ukranian name, so you won't hear it a lot in Russia unless you're close to the Ukraine-Russia border. Though, if you're story takes place in a town close to the border, I suppose it wouldn't be at all strange to have a character names Oksana. :)Here are the name combinations that I like for the characters:Vladimir
Yekaterina nn Katya
Mariya nn MashaVladimir
Aleksandra (I know you didn't have this name listed, but a Vladimir and an Aleksandra just kind of "go" together for me)
Mariya nn MashaI don't think it would be too far-fetched to name the main character's child after Vlad's deceased daughter if she had a more common name, such as Mariya. Perhaps instead of calling her Mariya or even Masha, you could use another pet form like Marishka, Marichka or Mashenka.A couple of other name suggestions: Irina and Zinaida.Let us know what you decide! :)
