[Opinions] Opinions on Stella?
Would you please share your opinions on the name Stella? I fell in love with it because of the meaning, "star", but am having second thoughts. I would like to honor my daughter and step-daughter with the new baby's name. My daughter's name is Azura, "sky blue", and my step daughter goes by the name Gracie. Jane, "God's grace", is a strong contender for the new baby's middle name. Any other suggestions are welcome!

I know a toddler Stella who is marvellously adorable; she was named after her grandmother, also a wonderful woman. So, yes, I'd say Go for it. (Granny Stella is Stella-Marie but only uses Stella; Catholic family; echoes of Stella Maris = Star of the Sea, one of the names or epithets of Mary apparently.) Stella Jane sounds excellent to me.
Stella is lovely and I also think the star meaning is sweet. Stella Jane would make a gorgeous combo and it's a lovely way to have both sisters honored.
I have a personal weakness for the name Stella -- I perceive it to be a strong, assertive name whose meaning brings pleasant images to mind. It's feminine but not at all sing-songy or airy.
Stella Jane is a smart combo.

Stella is a great name. I have a friend named Stella and she likes it. Yes, she will get a lot of "STELLAAAAA!!!!!" but maybe not as that movie will be less remembered in future generations.
Stella is similar to Azura in meaning. Will your step-daughter feel bad if your daughter has the first name and she has the middle name?
Eliora is a Hebrew name that means "God is my light". It kind of combines the two.

Stella has been growing on me lately. It's a name a girl could grow with. It might become a little trendy, but I don't think it will reach extreme heights.
How about Blue Jane?
LOL just kiddin'. I think of a sunny sky when I think of "sky blue" so manybe something sunnier? Stella is a very nighttime name.
Summer
Celeste "heavenly"
Nila "dark blue"
Sunny
Hina "sunlight"
Sunniva "gift of the sun"
Sky / Skye
"Grace" names:
Charis
Hannah
Thalia (on of the Graces of ancient Greece)
I mean, Stella is great, but I'm just not feeling the connection of sky blue and star. Stella Jane is really beautiful! and so energetic.

I love Stella I truly think it is a beautiful name. I know its getting pretty trendy but its not has bad as Isabella and that may not bother you any way. I think Stella can be cute enough for a little baby but be sophisticated as she grows. I give it a two thumbs up! Go for it!
