I never thought about using Romy as a nn for Jerome. If parents of little girls can pinch boy names as nns, then turn-about is fair play. Jerome, nn Romy, is fun.
I love the calm / coolness of Jerome. But I admit I love the quirkiness of Hieronymus more. My favorites from your smorgasbord:
