Bartholomea's mother, a Thai woman by birth, came to live with Dor and Maea. Lawan-Kulap (meaning "beautiful rose")moved in with her youngest daughter since her husband (Damian Eustace Elwood) passed away two weeks ago. Lawan-Kulap needed help handling the grief. Maea and Dor allowed her to move in because they knew she would need help, and because they both missed Maea's father, too.
