[Opinions] Sorry to make another post so soon after my last but I was wondering if you could help me find a nickname.
My name is Michelle and I hate people calling me Shell or Shelley.I am thinking of getting people to call me Misha (me-SHA). Do you think it works? What other suggestions can you come up with?Check Out Blinkyou.com for thousands of custom glitterz and layouts

I think it works great. In fact, I knew a Misha (female) who was a real sweetie. Most non-Russians won't consider it a boy's name; look how often Sasha is used for girls! :o)

I know a Michelle that goes by Micha.
Misia (same pronounciation) is used as a nn for Michalina in Poland.
She's like 10.~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

It would be alright, what about Mish? Or even maybe mick?

I think it works well enough. Misha isn't known widely outside of the namenerd community, so most people won't realize its a Russian boy's names. Even if they do -- does it matter? Misha has a nice sound. It's cute, but definately has more substance than Kaylee or Madison or something else ridiculously modern. I knew a girl in junior high who used it as her nn. Her full name was Melissa. So yeah... if you like it, go for it!Arcadia

It's just an object. It doesn't mean what you think

I like Misha a lot, and to me it is suitable for girls, but at the same time I have a teacher (from Russia) named Misha, so the fact that it is a male name has been enforced in my head.
Couldn't you go by some Elle-variation?
Or Melle, Mill(e)?Asch, Misha is nice. Micha?
