Do you think that Trent is better on its own or as a nickname for Trenton?

Trent says river to me, and Trenton says rather dull town. Go with Trent! It also has the advantage of not ending in -on.

I think Trent is more of a nickname for Trenton. That's only probably because I've met a Trenton that goes by Trent as a nickname.

Either one is fine, but I think I like Trenton "Trent" a little better than just Trent.
