Do you think the girl name Tenille (teh-neel) would be good to honour a male name Neale?

My dad's name is Neale (like Neil, just spelt different) and I just thought of Willow Tenille (or whatever spelling there is).

Thoughts?

Captain and Tennille aside, I do like it. It has its own thing going on and a neat sound. I prefer it with two N's, though.

...and there really isn't a way for me to detach it from Muskrat Love. All part of the package, I guess!

I had a friend in high school whose middle name was Tenille and her nickname was "Cap'n" :D

Both the Teneales I know spell it Teneale or Tenealle so I think the Teneale spelling would honour your Dad more.

I really dislike the name though, it is so ugly and such a bogan name.

Nila or Neila would be nicer IMO (or even Neala). It doesn't flow that well with Willow though.

I'm sorry, I just realised how harsh my initial post came off. I should have phrased it better- every Teneale I have known has been a bit of a bogan but I don't have a terrible association with it, I just think it sounds cheap. I think it is a really nice way to honour your Dad though and it is perfectly okay as a mn, especially if she'd have as nice of a name as Willow as her fn.

Ooh I love Tenille! It always gets negative feedback. I think Willow Tenille, is too L heavy and sounds rhymey.

I was thinking the same thing, and to me it is a good thing. I think Tennille would be cute on a girl, but it's more of a name I'd rather see on someone else's kid than my own.

Not a fan of Willow Tenille together.
Curious about the meaning of Tenille. I've yet to encounter it... I haven't met many girls w/ that name.

I love Tenille. I think it would be a good way to honor your Neale. I like Willow Tenille.
