I can see Leia (LAY-a) actually, especially if you make sure to pronounce the "re" like "reh."

Lorelei is gorgeous. I definitely prefer Lorelei to Lorelai.

As for nicknames, Lori works, but Leia seems like a bit of a stretch unless you're pronouncing Leia LIE-a, which I'm not too fond of because it sounds like "liar." How about Lora as a nickname for Lorelei?

I really like the prospect of using Lolly as a nickname for Lorelei.

Leia could work. Also Ly, Laia, Lora, Lorel, or Lei.
Lorelei is better than Lorelai IMO.

Sorry, I really don't see how Leia would work as a nn for Lorelei unless you're pronouncing it LIE-a instead of LAY-a. If that's the case, it would work fine. Could you just use the name Leia?
