I've also read that Finn could mean "Saami" in old Swedish. And the Saami are certainly wandering, with their reindeers.
It is carved on a rune stone "Finn ristade runorna" (Finn carved the runes).
"You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."
"It does not become me to make myself smaller than I am." (Edith Södergran 1891-1923)

Is that book available in English?
Not that I know of, but you basically find the same information in Hanks & Hodges's A Dictionary of First Names, which certainly is available in English. :)
