I love Sibyl, this spelling especially. (Thye Sybil one irritates me because I think people are confusing it with the beginning of Sylvia.)

I love the sound of it and the ancient greek imagery of it. I'm old enough to remember the Sally Field performance of the poor woman with multiple personalities. But I've trained myself to (mostly) be able to overcome one negative association to a name. Lately I've been getting into what I think of as WWII era names like Sibyl.

Sibyl Minerva is my favorite combination at the moment for Sibyl.

I like it too, and I can't imagine why it isn't usable right now.

I loved it when I was little, but in psychology class this year I was forced to watch part of the movie, and it freaked me out. Bad. I want to like it still, but I can't help cringing when I see it.

I like it, and while I wouldn't use it, it's a pleasant name I wouldn't mind seeing more often.

After the only Sibyl to be truly famous was the lady with an extreme case of dissociative identity disorder (Sybil Dorsett who had nearly 20 different personalities), I would say that Sibyl won't be usable again in any of our lifetimes.

I think you could get away with Sibylla / Sybilla / Sabella though.

I'm a little older than some posters here, so I think of the woman with multiple personalities named Sibyl. I think it was a TV movie from the 70's, based on a book, but I could be wrong.

I like Sibyl a lot! With vintage names making a comeback, I think that Sibyl is usable. :)

I love it. Why wouldn't it be usable? It reminds me of Cybil Shepard, actually.
