[Facts] History of My Name - Please Help
I am interested in learning the history of my name and I am not sure how to go about even starting that type of research. Could someone give me some advice or let me know if they have any information about my name?
Demaree is my given name but I go by Demi for short.
Thanks!

Of course this may have nothing at all to do with your personal name, but based on my own genealogical dabbling, the surname Demaree is at least sometimes found identified with the French surname Demarest. That might help you, a teensy bit. Or not. Good luck.
I found the following at ancestry.com
http://www.ancestry.com/facts/Demaree-family-history.ashx
Demaree - Americanized spelling of French Desmarais.
Demarest - French: regional variant of Desmarais.
Desmarais - French: habitational name for someone from any of various places named with Old French mareis, maresc ‘marsh’, as for example Les Marets, in Seine-et-Marne, Centre, Nord, and Picardy.

The first place you start this research is by asking your parents why they chose the name and where they found it. Until we know where you obtained it from, it is hard to track down the history of a name such as Demaree.
