My sister-in-law's Yorkshire grandmother was Dorice, pronounced do-REES, which is so ghastly that Doris looks quite fresh and frisky beside it. I like the idea of a sea-name better than I like most sea names, and Doris isn't among the top contenders. I think it needs another decade.
