Aly has recently become interested in city names and her and Nawat have decided on the capital of Tortall with his middle name honouring Aly's deceased employer.
The pair recently received word through Aly's Father George that her older brother Thom has become a full-fledged mage and is studying, with help from their sort-of Uncle Numair, to become a black-robe.
I can't remember if Thom's already a full mage in the books or not so...yeah.
