1. I had a great-aunt named May or Mae, born in the early 1900's. I don't know her exact birth year, nor am I sure whether it was spelled May or Mae.
2. I would rate it a 5. It's not terrible, and not great.
3. I prefer May. Mae seems a little hillbilly to me. Makes me think that my great-aunt was probably May, but again I'm not sure.
4. I'm terrible at combos, but I think it would sound best with a middle name of at least three syllables.
