Help[Opinions] Sebastian?
I've really been riding the fence with this one today. I have good associations with it but is it too popular? Too "fruity"? Overrated, perhaps? WDYT?

Sorry, guys...
By fruity I meant too flamboyant. I couldn't think of the right word. Rest assured, I'm not homophobic! Sorry for being so politically incorrect and unclear.

Put me in the "overrated" camp. Despite loving the character Sebastian in "The Neverending Story", I think it's hopelessly stuffy and precious.

Its not too popular. It is in the top 100, but hasn't hit the top 10.

I do like it, but prefer it as a mn, because I don't like the inevitable nn of Seb.

I love Sebastian. I worry it's to stuffy sounding, but I can't help loving it. I'm not sure what you mean by "fruity". It's handsome and I consider it a classic. :)

I love Sebastian and maybe it comes from never knowing one or having met one so, for me, it has this glow to it, but I love it. I even named one of my characters Sebastian and he's awesome.
It may be overrated in other parts of the world, but here in the South Eastern, US, it is anything but overrated or popular.
I'm not sure what you mean by "fruity" exactly, but it made me laugh because my character Sebastian is gay and my homophobic dad calls gay people fruity. I still have no idea what he means by that either.

I know for a lot of people names like Sebastian are too stuffy. But they make me think of P.G. Wodehouse characters and I can't help but find them endearingly funny and upbeat. Besides, nns were invented to let the air out of formal names. Nn Seb / Sebbie is adorable.

I know only one Sebastian, and there are a couple of fameous Sebastian Bachs. Since the one I know is a student who keeps coming to me for help to sovle problems at recess, it became one I wouldn't use. It does have a sophisticated, upper class air to me.
