When it comes to "old lady names" I have trained myself to like them all the more on new-borns because of the connection to old / middle aged people. Life renewing itself is beautiful and heart-warming. But it takes practice. I didn't always think this way.
I've always wondered why Sylvia didn't become more used, given the popularity of Olivia. Aren't they both the same style / vintage? Certainly the same sounds. Why some names take off and others don't is intriguing and fun, don't you think?
