Felix and Cateline met through Felix's younger brother Sebastien, who had met the American girl while she was studying abroad in Europe. Felix was already married at the time, with two children, but his wife left him only a few months after their son Nicolas was born. Cateline stayed in Europe and was with Felix for two years before he proposed. Their wedding was in a small cathedral in France, a medium sized event as both families are fairly large and they both have friends they wanted to invite. Their honeymoon was traveling around Europe by themselves for two weeks before going to the seaside with Emile and Nicolas for another two.
