Could this work? I'm digging it of late.

I like Flavia. I like that it is an old Roman name and I like the meaning (golden). But I don't know if it is close to some "bad" word in English. I associate with "flavour" which I don't find bad. And I think Via would be a nice nn.Genereally F-names do not seem to be popular, apart from Fiona, Felicity and Francesca."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

I was thinking of posting about Flavia myself :)Flavia is a rare name that I really have mixed emotions about. Some days I think it's beautiful and some days I think it's absolutely hideous. My feelings are never ambivalent or towards the middle of the road. It's very love/hate. Today is a hate day.

I like it. I used it as a middle name for Catherine in a Create-A-Family game a while ago and it sounded nice there. It appeals to my like of feminine names that aren't completely frilly with a bunch of "ah" and "eh" sounds in them (Isabella, Gabriella, etc).

Flavia is definately not my favorite. It's strange and make me think of flab, which is not a good thing for people to think of when they hear a name._________________________________________________

I hate to say it, but I'm not the first here to do so, so I guess it's ok- I get the association to something nasty, some word I can't find in my mind, not appealing.
Bad flavour is the spontaneous reaction.
Sorry.

As far as names go this isn't too bad but it does sound rather old-fashioned on one had and rather out-there on the other hand! But I think a cute nickname could make it work very well, do you have any combos in mind?

I think it reminds me of an unpleasant word, but I can't work out which one! Anyhow, I still think it's cute and original for someone else's child._____________________________________________________________________Elinor'Why do people with closed minds, always open their mouths?'
