As time progressed, Charlot & Eleonore began to worry that they may have to arrange a betrothal for their eldest son after all. Dieudonne had not shown any interest in any of the fair ladies constantly paraded around him, and they began to think he would not find a love match in time, as the kingdom was becoming restless as they waited for an announcement. A deadline was decided, if Dieudonne had not choosen his own bride by his 16th birthday, he would officially become betrothed to the 13 year old Princess Alessandra, the youngest daughter of an allied King.
Dieudonne had met Alessandra, and found her to be almost unbearably annoying so became set on meeting every young lady he could, hoping that he would find the spark that his parents had told him that they felt at their first meeting. When, 2 days before his birthday, he had still not found it, he felt resigned to marrying the annoying princess - until a strange old woman confronted him in the forrest as he hunted. She was ugly as sin, but he felt strangely drawn to her all the same, and she told him that she could find his one true love if he gave her a lock of his hair. Dieudonne was fairly sure that the old woman must have been crazy, but agreed none-the-less - after all, it was worth a try and he REALLY didn't want to marry Alessandra! The old woman cut a piece of golden hair from his head, and dropped it into a stone basin, before mumbling under her breath. Dieudonne's eyes widened in shock as the basin began to bubbled and emit a strange pink smoke. The old witch, for that is what she was, moved out of the way so Dieudonne could look, and what he saw was an angel... The vision shimmering through the basin's water was off a beautiful girl, with bright blue eyes and dark flowing hair, picking wild flowers in front of a mill. As Dieudonne watched, the image moved to show the mill's sing, and Dieudonne gasped as he realised he knew where she was! He thanked the old woman, and ran the 15 minutes to meadow where he'd seen his angel, and thankfully she was still there. As their eyes met, Dieudonne felt as if his heart had come alive for the first time... He and the beautiful girl, Ninette, the daughter of a wealthy land owner, announced their engagement on his birthday 2 days later. He and Ninette can not wait for Dieudonne's 18th birthday so they can marry, but are truly enjoying getting to know each other until then.
In other news, Eleonore has given birth to another baby boy! Prince Leopold is doted upon by everyone who meets him, especially by Princess Reine who treats him like a living doll!
