After seventeen long years of magic-free existance, Gabriel and Belle were suddenly brought back into its fold when things began appearing in their daughter Arianne's bedroom. First came the bracelet that Belle had found her first night in the castle, the one containing a portrait of Gabriel. Then the magic mirror that Belle had seen her father in was left by her bedside. Then, on Arianne's sixteenth birthday, a rose exactly like the one that Belle's father had given her on that fateful evening was found on her dressing table. Gabriel immediately called for Rosemarie, the fairy who had helped Belle after she came to the enchanted castle, to ask her what it all meant. Her news was not particularly encouraging: all she could say was that they were not cursed, they had not been sent with any malice, and that all she could say so far was that someone was trying to remind them of that time. After the things were declared safe, Belle and Gabriel allowed Arianne to keep them. But for some reason the mirror will not show anything, and the rose, though it has been months, will not fade. No one has a very good feeling about these events, but they quickly put them aside at the birth of new twins Xavier and Eliane. Belle and Gabriel were shocked and a little concerned when only six months after Bertrand's birth they discovered they were pregnant again, and even more so a few months later when they realized it was twins again! But all three involved came through the birth safely and are very healthy. But with their eldest only a few years from marrying, Belle and Gabriel have decided that they are definately done having children--after all, it's only a few years until they can expect to become grandparents!
