Variant of ALICIA. The spelling has probably been influenced by that of the alyssum flower, the name of which is derived from Greek á "against" combined with ëõóóá (lyssa) "madness, rabies", since it was believed to cure madness.

Dated: a real 70s-80s special! In order of preference: Alice, small gap, Alison, medium gap, Alicia, hugevastginormous gap, Alyssa.

I really dislike it. It's so prissy and wimpy and... blech. And I really dislike -issa names.
