I usually pronounce it THAL-ya.
Neither.
I pronounce it TAL-ya.
I pronounce it TAL-ya.
same
and usually with names that end in IA I consider myself saying "ya" but it is sort of stretched out.

I don't use the "th" sound at all - I say it "TAL-ee-ah". I didn't realise that was wrong. I quite dislike making the "th" sound for this name, it sounds like a lisped "sallia".
edited: well, I see that it should be said "tha-LYE-ah" if you are using the ancient Greek, which I do not mind as much as "thal-ya" or "tha-lee-ah". It's pretty in an offbeat, exotic sort of way.

Ditto- I've met two Thalia's who say their name "TAL-ee-ah", so this is how I've always pronounced it.
THAL-ya.
THAL-ee-ya but really fast ... if that makes sense.
Thalia Rosabelle
Thalia Ingrid
Thalia Louise
Thalia Estelle
Thalia Marie
Sorry, I'm kinda stuck on old lady names today ;o)

That's exactly how I pronounce it... almost like THAL-ya but I separate the "i" and "a" sounds. I've always pronounced names ending in "ia" that way.
