[Facts] Zelima
this is a spanish female name given in the 19th century.
I had a great grandmother of this name, born in England, but believe her mother was b orn in Spain. My great grandmother also gave this name to her first born and therefore I believe it was a name of some significance. I am assuming that this was also the name of my great great grandmother who would have been born at the beginning of the 1800's probab ly in Spain. My question is, is there a meaning to this name and was it a name given to females in a certain part of Spain in the 1800's?
Thank you in advance.

Zelima seems to the a variation of Selima, which comes from "shalom" in Hebrew. Maybe your ancestors were Jewish?
