[Opinions] Angus.
Angus has been growing on me lately. What is your opinion of it? Do you have a preferred spelling? Do you prefer Innes to Angus?

I love Angus. It is dorky-chic to me. I like that spelling and also Aonghus. Angus is more practical in places where Aonghus would constantly be mispronounced. I prefer Angus over Innes.

I've always loved Angus! And the thought of three little Scottish terriers called Angus, Fergus and Magnus, all wagging their tails, is a happy thought indeed. But they're good human names as well!I like Innes but less enthusiastically than I like Angus. It has a very different vibe: quieter and less tartan.

I actually don't mind the name and Angus is the best spelling imo. I personally don't like Innes, sorry.

I like it. It has a friendly sound, and the only one I know is very good-looking so it seems handsome to me. I do prefer Innes though, it's one of my favourite names.

I love the name Angus! I think it's so handsome! It used to be my favorite name! It also reminds of Angus in the movie 'Half Light'. You should watch it. Angus is played by the gorgeos Hans Matheson.

I'm not really a fan, it reminds me of Angus beef, more than anything else. Innes's ok, but not my style.

I don't mind Angus. I prefer Fergus to Angus (which I know is nothing like it, but I can't seem to think of one with the other!), because of the beef association, and also because the name Angus sounds a little ...mean? I'm not sure if that is the right word. Scrappy? I can imagine an Angus being a little spitfire, very stubborn and such. Innes is totally cool. I'd love to meet an Innes!

I've never warmed to Angus. It makes me think of steaks. BTW, I met a lady several months ago with two grandsons. The oldest was two (don't remember his name) and the newborn was named Angus. Well, it seems the two-year-old couldn't quite say Angus yet so instead, he called him "Anus." Isn't that awful? The woman telling us the story cringed a little but she said everyone was working extra hard to help the big brother pronounce his little brother's name correctly. ;-)Is Innes pronounced differently from Angus? If pronounced the way it looks, it's not bad but I'm not wowed by it, either.

Innes is pronounced differently. It's in-nes, just like it looks.

Makes me think of the kind of cow, so I don't like it that much.

Oh, Angus. What a darling boy. Love it. It reminds me of my beloved, no-one-but-me-gets-it Fergus.I never thought about the similarity between Angus : Innes and Agnes : Ines before. I have the same reaction to your question that I have to Agnes -- it depends on my mood. If I'm in a meat and potatoes, down to earth mood, then I like handsome Angus (or Agnes). But if I'm in a sophisticated, artsy, floating in the clouds kind of mood, then I like Innes (or Ines). On a pratical level, Angus would be easier to live with since more people (here in the U.S.) have heard of it.
