I actually do love the name Dexter, but the tv show of the same name does put me off a little! It is a cute, somewhat nerdy but also cool type of name.

I've liked Dexter for years. I have always find it cool and not geeky at all as some people seems to think. A friend of a friend's name is Dexter, he's a cool guy :)

Dexter screams "nerd" to me along with Harvey. OTOH, Dex is an attractive nn while Harve is still nerdy. ;-)

I like it, I had a puppy named Dexter, nn Dex.

I used to hate it, but I read a book with a very likeable character named Dexter, so it's defintely growing on me. Still not my favorite, but it's okay.

It's a really nerdy name to me.

I think it's a fun and handsome name.

I love Dexter (as well as the nickname Dex).

A couple of years ago when I joined this board, I mentioned this name and got a lot of feedback that it was nerdy, but I KNEW it would catch on. It seems to have. I think it is anything but nerdy. The nickname Dex makes it really appealing - IMO. The only downside I can think of now is there is that show Dexter, which I actually like, but may give it too much pop culture association.

Although it has a slightly nerdy image for me, I still like it.

I think it's really cool in a play-around-with sense. It's nerd-tastic, and also warm with a good sense of humor. I'm not sure how I'd react to seeing it in real life, though.

I super in love with it right now! I know lots of people find it geeky, but I find it extremely sexy. Dex is an awesome nickname.

I don't like it. I used to watch a TV show called "Dexter's Laboratory", so it reminds me of that. Also I don't know why but I think it's a really "geeky" name. I quite like the nickname Dex though, but only ever as a nickname.
