What do you think of Lyra? Trendy sounding because of its similarity to Layla and Lila? Do you think it sounds like the word liar?

I LOVE Lyra if it's pronounced LEER-ah.
I do not care for it pronounced LYE-rah.

My cat is named Lyra actually.

Philip Pullman used it because of its echo of 'liar', for his heroine who could talk her way into and out of just about anything including alternative universes! I'm not a total fan though I love the His Dark Materials books, but it's a whole lot better than Myra!

I love Lyra. It's beautiful. I don't think its trendy sounding and it doesn't sound like liar. Great name.
