[Opinions] Isela??
I've read that this is a Spanish name, a Russian name, a contrived name...does anyone know the real scoop? What do you think of it? I think it's gorgeous pronounced 'ee-SEH-la'.
And no, I personally do not think it is some contrived form of Isla (I read that on another site).
I am pretty sure this name stands alone!
Anyone else have any thoughts?

I used to know an Ysela who was Hispanic who pronounced her name the same way as Isela. I don't know very much about Isela / Ysela, but I do know that it is used at least somewhat regularly in Hispanic communities.
I highly doubt that Isela is related to Isla. I really don't know for sure, but I think that it's more likely to be related to Isolde and Yseult, a French form of Isolde, or Isabel / Isabelle / Ysabel, etc. I'm only guessing though!

I don't know where it comes from but it's beautiful.
I've got no clue on the origin, but I like it. Isela might end up with the nn Isa, though.
