Keely is okay if it's spelled that way. Keelin has a nice meaning, but it remings me to much of Teelin, a place in Ireland. When I hear the name, all I think of is the town.

I actually like the neame Keely a lot. I think it's cute but isn't too childish. I don't know though because I am biased by knowing a great girl and a great friend named Keely and she is everything I would want a child of mine to be so the name associates her for me...

Blinded by the characters...Why all the extra symbols around your name? They're rather unnecessary. We already have a poster Caroline, so the Mae is needed, but it's distracting and excessive with all those other characters.Welcome to the boards. It's nice to jump right in, but an introduction would be cool.I love Josh Groban, too. Great quote.:)

I agreeKeely is so babyish, and it sounds too much like "kiwi" for my liking.

count me, also, as "not a Keely fan"The look and sound of Keely is sort of trivial, childish, and small to me. It's not so bad that it'd bother me every time I addressed the person, or that I'd have an urge to make fun of it, or find it unbelievable on a doctor or judge - I just think it's a disappointingly cutesy sounding name on paper, without much character. It flunks the lover-moaning-it test. Nice for a pet, perhaps.Keelin has its place, and an additional helping of dignity, but it seems trendy to me too. - chazda

Same hereTo "keel" is to capsize or a part of a ship (among other things), or "keel over" as in faint. Not really anything I want my children to think of every time they hear their names. And Keelie and Keelin are worse than Keely as they look even more made up in a negative way...But I'd pay you to use "Over" as a mn for Keelin as in "Keelin' Over." No, you're not!Keely, Keeley, Keeleigh, etc. just seem like an extension of the popular Kylies, Kaylies, Callies, Kelseys, etc. Plus, when I visualize a Keely, I think of an excessively perky, ditzy girl/woman.

No, I don't really like it eitherIt's very, very trendy and sounds quite childish to me. Although I do have to say that I prefer Keely (pr. KEEL-ee) over Kelly for a girl.Keelin's another matter. It's one of several Anglicisations of Caoilfhionn, and is the spelling closest to Caoilfhionn's pronunciation. So I think Keelin's alright for someone else, though it's not for me.EDIT: I just looked at BtN's entry for Keely, which says it's a variant of Kayley. I prefer it as an alternate form of Kelly, or else think of it as a purely non-etymologically based modern made-up name.Kayley's an Anglicisation of Caollaidhe, and spelled just Kayley it's trendy but alright imo. Kaylee / Kayleigh is just Kay + Lee / Leigh to me, and is unrelated to Kayley; ditto with Kayleah (KAY-lee-ah to me), only with Kay + Leah. Caileigh, Caleigh, Kaelee, ad nauseum are just bad misspellings of Kayley to me, and I can't think of anything good to say about them.

The first time I heard this name was on a show called "Phil of the Future". I think I'm starting to like it.

I like it Keely. Keeley and Keelee has too many 'e's and I just don't like Keelie. I don't really like Keelin, sounds a bit masc., I would prefer Kaelyn.
