[Opinions] Lindsey

As a Lindsey, all I can say is NOOOO!!
I've never not gone by my first name, last initial. I know the name was more popular in the 80s when I was born, but using it now would be like using it after it went out of style and before it came back into style enough to be hip.
It would be like when I went to school with Brittanys, Ashleys, Nicoles, and Danielles. We had one girl named Peggy and it was so very sad. Because it wasn't a classic and it wasn't in style. It was just very lost and dated.
I don't hate my name, but I wouldn't wish it on others either.
It's nothing special at all. Any name that has been in the Top 20 or so for a decade or more and isn't a classic, should probably be avoided.
Just sayin'.
-Lindsey
PS: Should add that Lindsey on a boy would be very hot. It's classy, clarming, and still fun on a boy.
More modern alternatives?
Linley (And surnames are becoming more popular anyway, but usually still somewhat classier.)

I've always disliked it and never understood the appeal that it obviously had for a great many people.
I like it.
i can never like this name...it reminds me too much of a girl who i've been going to school with for almost 10 years now and i never liked her, sorry.
sooo dated
Incredibly late-80's early 90's. I grew up with a plethora of Lindseys, Megans, Ashleys, Jessicas and Jennifers. Lindsey and all variations was definitely one of the "Top Names" of my generation. It would be fresher on a boy in my opinion. I think Lindsey needs a good long rest.
Linden I think could be a more updated Lindsey-esque choice.

Or Lyndall. It keeps popping up in South Africa, never lots but usually a few. Story of an African Farm (Olive Schreiner) is an odd novel; I think the central character's name is the best part of it!
