[Opinions] Pippa?
Replies
Ew, I hate it. Mostly because it's a word for having sex in Swedish. I also dislike it because it seems so cutesy. (I dislike Poppy for the same reason.)
I think it's fine as long as it's a nickname. It's insubstantial on its own, imo.
Pippa is darling. It's fresh, energetic and happy sounding.
I know a woman whose niece is named Gabrielle Pippa. Her father's mn is Philip and the mother didn't like Philippa either.
Pippa can stand on its own. But if you're looking for other formal names for it, how about:
Penelope
Philadelphia
Persephone
Perpetua
Epiphany / Epiphania
Olympia
Agrippina
Theophila ("thee-AH-fil-uh")
Patricia

Do you know its meaning in Sweden, by any chance?
And Pippa sounds a bit too cutesy, although it is kind of nice. :/

I don't really like Pippa *without* Philippa. I'm with you, though, it's not the nicest name. What about as a nickname for something else... Phoebe, Phaedra, Penelope, Persephone, Philippine, Penina? Pippa is very cute, though. Maybe as a middle name?
