It sounds Arabic. L'chaim means something like "to life"! in Hebrew (I think Jews say it when they toast), and since the two languages are related, I would guess "life" is the meaning of Elhaym.

Elhaym seems to come from "el" = God and "haym" = life, in Hebrew... Mmmm, I've just found on a website that it may be an alternative spelling to "Elohim". Kinda disturbing to call your child "God".
