[Opinions] Nevena
I'm not fond of Marigold in English, but I'm loving the Bulgarian and Macedonian form Nevena. What do you think of Nevena?Nevena struck me at first because it sounds quite similar to Nevaeh (which, in my opinion, isn't such a bad name per se), but prettier and more sophisticated (and without the silly meaning). I don't think the spelling and pronunciation would cause any problems outside of Nevena's home countries.Do you like the name Nevena? Can you think of any combos for it? Do you like Neamh (pronounced NEV, means "heaven" in Irish) as a nickname for Nevena?

I don't much care for the pronunciation, and NEV-en-a is not obvious to me. (I first thought ne-VEN-a) I think the spelling's pretty straightforward, but the pronunciation will have to be corrected a lot in an English speaking country. It's a nice name though, certainly preferable to Nevaeh.

I think it's quite nice really. And the nn idea is also good!

Nevena is interesting. But I'm not sure how to pronounce it. Are you saying, "neh-VEE-nuh" or "neh-VAY-nuh," or some other way? They all sound pretty to me, I just want to make sure.By the way, I adore Niamh ("neev") and would use it for a dd tomorrow. It's my #1 name for a girl. You can use anything for a nn. But it would make more sense to me to spell it Neve as a nn for Nevena.

Nevena is pronounced 'NEH-veh-nah'.

Ah. Thank you. :-)

Nevena is also a Croatian name and Neven is a male word name here (the noun marigold - neven is male here).
I like Nevena and Nevenka, but it's considered dated here. We use Nena as a nickname, but I also like Nev (spelled this way).

Nena is so sweet! I guess now, after hearing your opinions, I would spell it "Nev" rather than "Neamh". Nev is more pratical, and makes more sense as a nickname for Nevena.

It's a nice name, I met one who was a nice person as well. But I'd just spell the nickname Nev, after all the "nev" in Nevena has nothing to do with "heaven" in Irish, you might as well spell it in the more straightforward and expected way.Nevena Paula
Nevena Julie
Nevena Gloria
Nevena Gabrielle
Nevena Catherine
Nevena Orly
Nevena Amalia
