[Opinions] Nola as a nickname for Eleanor?
Do you think that Nola could work as a nickname for Eleanor? My husband and I are pretty much set on Eleanor, as it honors his mother, but we're looking for a good nickname. Ella is too popular, we don't like Nora very much, and Nell sounds horrible with our surname, so we thought we'd get a little creative. I know we can pretty much call our daughter whatever we like, but we would like her nickname to at least seem like it was derived from her full name. Thanks!

How about Ellie?

I think Nola is fine. I have a lot of Eleanors in my family - several Ellies, a Nell and a Leni. Haven't come across a Nola yet, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work.

Yes, it could work...but I don't really like Nola, personal bias only.

I think Nola works just fine for Eleanor. Of course, I'm really relaxed about nicknames. ;)Nonie is my favorite nickname for Eleanor.

Personally, I don't get Eleanor > Nola but then again, who says a nn must be derived from the full name? As long as the three of you are happy, what's the harm?BTW, I like Eleanor very much. WDYT of Ellie or Elea?

Nola could work, if you both like it.
Also, what about Lena?
