[Opinions] Leia
What do you think of Leia for a girl and how do you pronounce it? I say LAY-ah.
Do you think it will get mixed up with Leah and Lea a lot? I pronounce Lea more like LEH-ah (long e, though, you know the French E which doesn't really sound like AY if you know what I mean but is still long) and Leia as LAY-ah with that real LAY sound as in May or Kaelyn.
Too Star Wars? Do you know anyone named Leia? Does it remind you of the word layer?

I know two girls with this name, both pronounce it the same as Leah
I think Leah, Lea, and Leia will all be mixed up at some point. The names are just too similar not to be.
I'm an oddball and inwardly pronounce Leia like Leah, but because of Star Wars would outwardly pronounce the name as LAY-ah. I don't think it's "too" Star Wars; I just think that Star Wars made an uncommon name not so unheard of anymore.
I actually just put Leah on my PNL the other day and was this close to adding Leia but decided against it because of the pronunciation differences even though I prefer the spelling of Leia over Leah.

I like it. I would use it. I pronounce it the same as you. I think it might get mised up with Lea occassionally, but not Leah. I don't think it's too Star Wars. I don't know any personally but I've heard of at least one. I'm American, so I don't think of 'layer' at all.
