I really like it. It doesn't seem heavy at all, but rather very modern. For some reason I'm also getting that the nickname "Max" might not be inappropriate if you do want to shorten it.
I certainly don't see it as any heavier than other very "adult" old school names that are getting popular again, like Henry, Edward, Charles, or Victor.
